Common Interest
When networking it is important that you have a common interest. Common Interest is an agreement formed between two or more parties, either before or after the execution of the Joint Agreement.
In simple form, it means that you share the same goal and idea. This is important because things are constantly changing daily in individual lives and businesses. However, if you share the same common interest, it is most likely that things will not change about the goal or idea.
Communication is key. If you decide that you no longer have the same common interest then each party should express their new position on the shared topic. If it is determined that you or the other parties, no longer want to participate in the old idea or goal, it is vital that you or the other parties express that clearly.
I firmly believe that there is always a resolution to a problem if the parties can agree. If you struggle to find common ground, more times than once it will affect business and or relationships formed with the common interest.
I encourage you all to see what you can gain from a common interest, then compare it to what there is to gain without it. You will then see the gains and the losses. That will help you make the appropriate decision moving forward.
