Self-Preservation

First things first, when it comes to self-preservation, you must identify what you can tolerate and what you can not.  In some cases, people deal with more than they can sustain mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Mentally you must understand that you can not take on any additional stress when you already have things going on.  It is unfair to you.  Please realize that you can deal with each situation, one problem at a time. Try not to become overwhelmed, if so, take a break and then get back to it.

Emotionally each person should identify what they are feeling and why they are feeling that way.  When people can not control their emotions, it makes it hard for them to socialize and maintain positive relationships.  When things are bothering you. Emotionally, take a step back, recognize your feelings and respond to the situation when you are more stable and your intensity has passed.

Physically, it is imperative that you take care of your body by eating and getting enough sleep.  Without the appropriate amount of food in your system your body begins to feel sluggish and weak.  When you do not get an appropriate amount of sleep, your body begins to get jittery, preventing you from reaching your full potential for that day.
