Books and Covers

Some people judge you before getting to know you, which is common. When interacting with others, keep a warm attitude and give them the benefit of the doubt. It’s uncomfortable when someone misrepresents your character.

If you catch yourself judging someone before they reveal who they are, try to put yourself in their shoes and think about your initial assumptions.

Most of the time, you share more in common than you realize. Judging others blocks learning and growth.

Introductions are easy. Kids communicate openly on playgrounds. One child approaches another and asks if they want to play. Usually, they respond positively and build from there.

As adults, we lose this simple approach. It might be due to insecurities or the belief that others wouldn’t want to be friends. But when you judge others, you miss out on the benefits of diverse cultural perspectives that can help you grow.

I encourage you to introduce yourself to someone you wouldn’t normally talk to. Start a conversation. It might go differently than you expect.

Don’t be afraid to be great!
